What does natural really mean in beauty?

Can a product really be 100% natural? There is a lot of misconception and confusion when it comes to organic products or 100% natural hair care. So, can a product really be 100% natural or preservative-free? It depends on nature of the product, and what we expect from the product. If a product is completely oil-based, for example a blend of oils, then you can call it 100% natural. But if a formula is water based, it needs to be preserved from bacterial and fungal growth. This needs at least a preservative to be added. All Ashba Botanics products are preserved using Ecocert approved list of preservatives.
At Ashba Botanics, most ingredients in our products are naturally derived (and many of them are Ecocert-certified, mentioned on labels). We do have a few ingredients which are synthetic. Why do we choose those ingredients? We want our products to be functional and performing, so we select ingredients that style & hold the hair to provide frizz-control. Sometimes, using 100% naturally derived styling ingredients does not deliver especially in humid weather. That is where our scientifically proven ingredients come into play. We make sure the synthetic ingredients we choose are safe to use. Our products are very well crafted using naturally derived ingredients along with scientifically proven ingredients to truly transform hair. Each ingredient is carefully picked by our Founder . She is involved in each and every Ashba products’ formulation from the beginning to the end to make sure the ingredients are safe and chosen based on the performance. Each formulation is tested for performance for months before it is finalised to make sure we can offer the best for your hair.

Where do we source our ingredients from?

Many ingredients used in beauty industry are available at many different suppliers. We buy our ingredients only from top-of-the-line manufacturers. We like to use manufacturers who have a great reputation in the industry & ones who spend a great amount of time, effort & money on testing the quality of their ingredients. We do a microbiology test once we receive the ingredient and make sure it is up to the quality and passes the required parameters.

Sustainability

All our bottles are made from 100% recyclable plastics. The raw material used to make the bottles is also made of 100% PCR (Post-consumer resin) previously recycled plastic material. We are doing our bit not to add any more plastic to the environment. We use 100% biodegradable cleansers in our shampoo. The prime conditioning agent in our conditioner is 100% biodegradable and cosmos approved.

Manufacturing Facility

We also make sure to comply with all the Good manufacturing practices set by the FDA and our manufacturing units are GMP certified from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) of India.
